apparently modern medieval scholars have no solid idea why there’s so many old paintings of knights fighting snails.  Like that wasn’t just one weird painting there’s hundreds of those.

the firste meyme

And my favorite one here

I’m not saying humanity defeated an invasion of snail aliens in the Middle Ages but hold on wait that’s EXACTLY what I’m saying

snail aliens, or snaliens,

probably it was just funny so people kept doing it. which is basically what a meme is

the explanation I’ve heard is that most of the monks who did these illustrations would have kept small gardens where they grew all their own food and this was their way of venting about snails ruining their gardens

ok thats even funnier

This is hands down one of my favourite posts on Tumblr.

“Fuckin snails, I’m gonna draw me some God damn knights killing the shit out of these shell slime fucks. Teach them to fucking ruin my herbs. Assholes.”

if HABIT is really going to use Vinny as a vessel then what does that imply about Evan? I want to draw attention back to this quote spoken by HABIT, directed to Vinny, in ‘A summoning’:

‘I mean… he’s broken. He’s fucked up. There’s not a lot going on up there. But you? You? You only lost a couple of your friends.’

The chronology of EverymanHYBRID is so fucked that HABIT could have come to the realisation that Evan is no longer a suitable vessel years ago, or even as close to our current time as is humanly possible. But if we’re going by our chronology, ‘A summoning’ was posted three years ago. We’ve seen Evan only a couple of times since and he’s been broken beyond belief.

I think Evan’s actually come to the end of his use. HABIT seems to exclusively possess humans, but the physical and mental limitations HABIT must push them to must have an end, because they’re only human.

All of the time, HABIT could have been training Vinny up to become his new vessel. Coming on camera less and less as HABIT’s arc ended and Vinny’s arc began - but what if they are one and the same? Showing the video from last Christmas (’christmas.’) is horribly poignant if this was the last time, according to our chronology, we ever saw whatever remains of Evan in terms of his mind. HABIT always plans ahead, far, far ahead, and I think after testing this iteration’s Evan to the furthest limits of his body and psyche (in particular the videos from ‘Next’ through to ‘l’esprit de l’escalier’) he realises conclusively that using Evan to get to his end goal isn’t going to work. Instead, he’s been using Evan to tie up all the loose ends - like enlisting help from Firebrand in TribeTwelve (’DEUS EX MACHINA’), ensuring Noah of TribeTwelve knows what he must do (’Severance’ and ‘Bridge to Nowhere’), and killing off Shaun in MLAndersen0 (’GOODBYE’).

Because as far as we know, the meaning behind HABIT’s actions seem directionless, chaotic and inspired purely by a desire to see others suffer (and to have fun while doing it), but the one thing we know he wants to do is to defeat the Stick-in-the-Mud (’two thousand three hundred and ninety-five’). When HABIT initially describes Vinny in ‘a summoning’ he stumbles somewhat, and describes him as ‘more of a leader’ - but by the time we get to ‘Lexi’, HABIT has fully realised that Vinny has something inside that ‘can’t quite be fucked with.’ Between ‘a summoning’ and ‘Lexi’ is when HABIT realised that in this iteration - which could actually cross-pollinate between iterations - this Vinny, the Vinny we all know, could be the key to finally achieving his end goal. This particular version of Vinny is the one version that HABIT wants to possess - because he is the only one who has exhibited these unique, desirable traits in a vessel.

tldr;

HABIT’s vessels always have an expiry date and HABIT has been training Vinny up to become his next vessel since recognising his potential in ‘A summoning’. This is is what breaks this iteration away from the rest - HABIT has not possessed Vinny before, but this might end the iterations and finally kill the Stick-in-the-Mud.

Well… oh… @h4vit

this sums up all my thoughts about it pretty well B^)

Where do cats go when they die? Purrgatory.

¿De dónde van los gatos cuando mueren? Purgatorio.

Dude it works also in Italian! ‘Dove vanno i gatti quando muoiono? Nel purGATTOrio’

could also work in french: “où vont les chats quand ils meurent? Au purCHATtoire”

The ultimate pun

IT ALSO WORKS IN PORTUGUESE

“Para onde os gatos vão quando morrem? Para o purGATOrio”

WE HAVE ACHIEVED PEAK PUN

The pun heard ‘round the world.

This is what we’ve all been waiting for.
